1) What lengths does the Trimco 3094 filler bar come in?
Six lengths, in 12 inch steps: 3094-1 at 12 inches, 3094-2 at 24, 3094-3 at 36, 3094-4 at 48, 3094-5 at 60, and 3094-6 at 72 inches. Measure the run of door stop left over after the coordinator body is mounted and take the bar that covers it. On a wide opening you are usually cutting down the next size up rather than piecing two bars together.
2) Which mounting bracket do I need for my door stop, the Trimco 3095 or the 3096?
It goes by the width of your door stop. The 3095 steel mounting bracket covers stop widths from 7/8 inch to 2-1/4 inch. Over 2-1/4 inch, use the 3096. Measure the face of the stop on the frame head before ordering, because the bracket is what carries the coordinator and filler bar off that stop.
3) I only need to replace a damaged filler bar on an existing Trimco coordinator. Can I order just the bar?
That is exactly what the 3094-F is for. It is sold as the filler bar on its own for an installed 3094 stop-mounted coordinator, in the same six lengths and two paint finishes as original. Match the length to the bar you are pulling off and match silver or black to the coordinator already on the frame. The 3095 and 3096 steel mounting brackets are ordered separately if yours are damaged too.
4) What do I need to order to put together a complete Trimco 3094 stop-mounted coordinator?
Three pieces decide the order: the 3094 coordinator itself, a filler bar sized to the opening (3094-1 through 3094-6, 12 to 72 inches), and a mounting bracket chosen off your stop width, 3095 for 7/8 to 2-1/4 inch or 3096 for anything over 2-1/4 inch. Pick silver or black aluminum paint and keep all three the same.
5) Do I actually need a coordinator on my pair of doors, or can I skip it?
A coordinator is what you use on a pair where one leaf has to close before the other, typically an astragal or overlapping pair with a fire-rated or latching sequence. The Trimco 3094 is a stop-mounted, fully automatic coordinator that sequences those leaves. On a pair with no overlap and no astragal, where either leaf can close in any order, you do not need one. The 3094-F filler bar only makes sense once you are running a 3094.
6) Will the Trimco 3094 coordinator work on an unequal pair of doors?
Yes. The 3094 stop-mounted coordinator is engineered for equal and unequal pairs. With unequal leaves the coordinator body sits over the inactive leaf and the filler bar makes up the rest of the head, which is why the bars run 12 to 72 inches in 12 inch steps rather than one fixed size.
7) What happens if someone forces the active leaf shut against a Trimco 3094 coordinator?
The 3094 has an adjustable override built in for exactly that. It releases rather than fighting the leaf, which protects the doors, the coordinator, the frame and the hinges when the active leaf gets pushed closed out of sequence. On a high-traffic opening where people shove the wrong leaf first, that override is the reason the hardware survives.
