1) How does the Trine 599 transformer mount to a junction box?
It has a screw-bracket clamp that grips a standard 1/2 inch knockout on a box or cabinet, so it hangs off the box with the secondary leads inside the enclosure. It can also be base mounted if you would rather screw it to a surface. Primary leads come pre-stripped, so no leadwork before you wire-nut it in.
2) Is the Trine 599 transformer UL listed?
Yes, the 599 series step down transformers are UL listed. They are also self-protecting: the transformer takes itself off line if it overheats, rather than failing in an overloaded state.
3) Can I run two electric strikes off one Trine 599 transformer?
Depends on the strikes. The 599 gives you 40VA at 24VAC, which is 1.65 amps total. Two continuous-duty strikes drawing well under that will share it; two intermittent-duty strikes that could both fire at once usually will not. Total the current draw of every device on the secondary and stay under 1.65 amps, otherwise use a second transformer or a larger supply.
4) What do I need besides the Trine 599 to wire up a door buzzer circuit?
The transformer supplies power only. You still need the 24V device itself (electric strike, buzzer, bell or chime), the push button or release switch, low voltage wire sized for the run, a junction box with a 1/2 inch knockout for the clamp, and wire nuts for the pre-stripped 120V primary leads. Primary side is line voltage, so it needs a proper connection inside an enclosure.
5) Is the Trine 599 suitable for a commercial building or is it residential only?
