Metallics SVGM1 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is the Metallics SVGM1 safety glasses still being made?
No. Metallics has discontinued the SVGM1 Vision Series mirror lens glasses, and they are being sold while remaining supplies last. If you are standardizing PPE across a crew or a facility, pick a model that is still in production so you can reorder the same lens tint later.
2) What is the Metallics SVGM1 and what lens does it come with?
The SVGM1 is a pair of Metallics Vision Series safety glasses fitted with a mirror lens, the tinted/reflective option typically chosen for outdoor and bright-glare work rather than indoor tasks. It is sold under part number SVGM1 as a single model with no size or color choices to specify.
3) Are the SVGM1 mirror lens glasses the right choice for indoor electrical work?
Generally no. A mirror lens cuts bright light, so it suits outdoor service calls, rooftop and parking lot work. For panel work in a dim electrical room or any low-light interior, a clear lens version is the better pick, since a mirrored tint reduces how much you can see inside an enclosure.
