1) Can the WAC Lighting 5511 spot light be fully submerged in a pond?
Yes. The 5511 submersible spot light is IP68 rated for continuous immersion down to 5 meters, with a factory sealed watertight brass housing. It is built for ponds, waterfalls and water features rather than just splash exposure, and it also carries UL and cUL listing for wet locations.
2) How far out of the water can I make the wire connection on this underwater light?
The fixture ships with 360 inches (30 feet) of attached lead wire, so the splice can be made well up the bank or inside a dry junction outside the pond. Plan the transformer or splice point within that 30 foot run, since the connection should never sit in the water.
3) What transformer do I need to run the WAC 5511 submersible spot light?
It is a 12V landscape fixture and accepts an input of 9 to 15V AC, so it runs off a standard low voltage landscape transformer. It is hardwired, not plug-in, so the leads land on the transformer's secondary or in a wet-rated junction. The 9-15V input window gives you some headroom for voltage drop on longer runs.
