WAC Lighting WAC-PD-69108 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What is the hanging height range on the WAC Laurel 8 inch LED pendant, and what rods come in the box?
The Laurel pendant hangs from 15 inches up to 120 inches overall. Three 12 inch down rods and one 6 inch down rod ship with it, plus 10 feet of wire to reach the full 120 inch drop. If your ceiling needs an in-between length, additional down rods are a separate order.
2) Will the Laurel pendant dim, and does it need a separate LED driver?
No external driver or transformer is needed. It runs on 120V AC LED technology, so the line voltage feeds the fixture directly. For dimming, use an electronic low voltage (ELV) or TRIAC dimmer; a standard incandescent-only or MLV dimmer is the wrong control for it.
3) Is this pendant safe over a bathroom vanity or on a covered porch?
The Laurel pendant carries a Damp location rating and an IP44 rating, so a covered porch, a covered breezeway, or a bathroom outside the direct shower spray zone is within its rating. It is not rated for wet locations, meaning direct rain or an uncovered exterior position is out.
4) Does the WAC Laurel pendant meet California Title 24 for a kitchen or multi-family job?
Yes, the Laurel pendant is listed as both Title 24 compliant and Title 20 compliant, which is what a California spec or permit set normally asks for on a residential luminaire. It is ETL and cETL listed for US and Canada. It is not Energy Star rated and it is not ADA compliant, so do not use it where a protruding-object ADA restriction applies.
5) How much light does the 8 inch Laurel pendant put out, and what color is it?
1400 lumens at 15W, in 3000K warm white with a flood distribution downward through the opal glass. The etched opal diffuser spreads it evenly rather than throwing a hard spot, so it works as task light over an island or a counter. Rated life is 50,000 hours, and the LED is integrated, so there is no lamp to replace.
6) What finishes does the 8 inch Laurel pendant come in if I need to match existing fixtures?
Two finishes: Black (PD-69108-BK) and Brushed Nickel (PD-69108-BN). Both use the same mouth blown etched opal glass shade and the same 3000K output, so a run of several over an island will read consistently whichever metal you pick. The frame is aluminum.
7) Can I get the Laurel pendant in 277V for a commercial panel, or in a different color temperature?
The standard build is 120V at 3000K. WAC offers 277V, 240V, and custom CCT versions of the Laurel as a special order rather than a stock configuration, so a 277V commercial circuit can be accommodated but has to be specified up front, not swapped in the field.
