WAC Lighting LENS-11-AMB – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Which WAC Lighting fixtures does the LENS-11 color lens fit?
The LENS-11 lens is built for WAC Lighting's FQ Collection recessed fixtures. It drops into compatible FQ recessed housings to change the color of the output without pulling or replacing the fixture itself, so it only suits FQ Collection openings, not other recessed lines.
2) Do I have to replace the whole recessed fixture to change the light color on an FQ downlight?
No. Swapping in a LENS-11 color lens changes the color output of a compatible FQ Collection recessed fixture while the housing and trim stay in place. For a property manager refreshing a room or a lighting designer tuning an effect, that keeps the ceiling and the existing layout untouched.
3) Is the LENS-11 a complete recessed fixture or just an accessory?
Accessory only. The LENS-11 is a color lens, not a light, not a trim, and not a housing. You need an existing compatible WAC FQ Collection recessed fixture for it to go into; order the fixture and any trim separately.
4) What colors does the WAC LENS-11 recessed lens come in?
Five colors across the LENS-11 family: amber, blue, green, red, and clear. The clear option comes under two model designations, LENS-11-BEL and LENS-11-SPR, and there are two black variants, LENS-11-HCM and LENS-11P-CRL. Order by the model number, not the color name alone, since the same color appears under more than one model.
5) Is the WAC LENS-11 lens approved for use in Canada as well as the US?
Yes. The LENS-11 carries both ETL and cETL listings, which covers code-compliant use on US and Canadian jobs. That matters on spec work where the accessory, not just the fixture, has to show a listing mark.
6) I need theatrical-style color effects from recessed cans. Can I mix colors across a run of FQ fixtures?
You can. Each LENS-11 is a single-color lens, so an installer picks the color per fixture: amber, blue, green, red, clear, or black. Running different lenses in adjacent FQ housings gives mixed color across a run, and because the lens swaps out on its own the scheme can be changed later without re-lamping or rewiring.
7) What is the WAC LENS-11 lens made of, and will it hold up in a commercial space?
It is molded plastic, which keeps it light and easy to handle during install and makes it a low-risk item to stock for maintenance swaps. WAC classifies it as a functional-style accessory rather than a decorative one, so it is built around the optical job rather than appearance.
