Metallics JSWN1 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Should I use a nylon flat washer or a steel one for mounting into sheet metal enclosures?
Pick the nylon JSWN1 when you need the fastener electrically isolated or want to avoid galvanic action between two different metals, which is its stated metal-to-metal application. If the joint is torqued hard or carries real clamping load, use a steel or hardened washer instead, since nylon will cold-flow and relax under sustained pressure.
2) How many washers come in a jar of Metallics JSWN1?
One hundred #10 nylon flat washers per jar. The jar packaging is the reason these show up on service trucks and in shop drawers, since it keeps small washers from scattering in a tray. Jar weight is 0.8 lbs.
3) What is the Metallics part number to reorder these #10 nylon washers?
Order by manufacturer part number JSWN1 from Metallics. That number covers the #10 flat nylon washer in the 100-count jar, and it is the only configuration the part number carries, so there is no size or finish option to specify.
