Metallics JW107 Washers 1/8 X 9/16 Fender St-zn (Jar 100)

The JW107 fender washer has a 1/8 inch inside diameter, so it sits on a 1/8 inch (#5-ish) bolt, screw or rod. The outside diameter is 9/16 inch, which gives you a much wider bearing surface than a standard flat washer of the same bore. If your fastener is larger than 1/8 inch, this is the wrong washer.

A fender washer carries a far larger outside diameter relative to its hole, which spreads clamping load over a wider area. On thin sheet metal, panel, drywall or an oversized or slotted hole, that keeps the fastener head from pulling through or dimpling the material. The JW107 pairs a 1/8 inch bore with a 9/16 inch OD, so it covers roughly four and a half times the hole diameter. If you are fastening into solid steel or wood with a clean hole, a standard flat washer is enough.

JW107 ships as a jar of 100 washers, one jar per unit. The jar packaging is useful on a service truck or MRO shelf since small washers stay contained instead of loose in a bin. Jar weight is listed at 0.53 lbs.

The JW107 carries a zinc finish, which handles indoor and normally dry or occasionally damp conditions and resists general corrosion in an enclosure, panel or interior raceway run. For continuous wet exposure, coastal air or direct weather, zinc plating will eventually give up and a stainless washer is the better call.
