Watts LFRK 909-RT 6 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Do I need a separate check or relief valve kit along with the 909-RT rubber kit?
For a rubber rebuild, no. The RT kit carries the RV disc assembly, diaphragm, piston seal, check disc and all the O-rings in one box. What it does not cover is metal hardware such as check modules, springs or seats. If your test failure traces to a scored seat or a broken spring rather than worn rubber, you need those parts separately.
2) Is this Watts backflow repair kit lead free for potable water service?
Yes. The LFRK 909-RT 6 is a lead free kit, which is what you want when rebuilding an LF909 on a domestic water line. The LF prefix on both the kit and the assembly identifies the lead free line.
