1) What is the difference between the Wiremold V511 and V517 elbow fittings?
Both are 500 Series elbows in ivory, and the difference is the direction of the turn. The V511 is the flat elbow, used where the raceway changes direction while staying on the same flat surface, such as running along a wall and turning a corner in the same plane. The V517 is the internal elbow, used where the run turns into an inside corner, for example wall to wall at a room corner or wall up into the ceiling. Pick by the geometry of the corner you are turning, not by preference.
2) Will these Wiremold elbows fit my existing 500 Series raceway run?
Yes. The V511 and V517 are 500 Series fittings and are built to mate with the rest of the Wiremold 500 Series raceway system, so they drop into an existing 500 run. They will not fit other Wiremold raceway sizes, so confirm the base and cover you have on the wall are 500 Series before ordering.
3) Are Wiremold 500 Series ScuffCoat fittings metal or plastic?
Steel, with a ScuffCoat finish over it. That matters in corridors, classrooms, and shop areas where a plastic raceway fitting gets cracked by carts or ladders. The ScuffCoat coating is what keeps the ivory surface from marking up in traffic.
4) Is ivory Wiremold raceway going to match the other surface raceway already in my building?
These 500 Series elbows are supplied in ivory only, so they match existing ivory 500 Series raceway and ivory painted or off-white walls. If the runs already installed in your building are a different color, the fitting will not blend and you would need that color instead.
5) Do I need both a flat elbow and an internal elbow for a raceway job?
Most runs need more than one type. A single wall with an outside corner takes the flat elbow (V511); a run that turns into a room corner or transitions from wall to ceiling takes the internal elbow (V517). Walk the route first, count each change of direction and note whether it is in-plane or into a corner, then order the matching fitting for each. Straight raceway base, cover, and boxes are separate items from the elbows.
6) Can I paint Wiremold 500 Series ScuffCoat raceway fittings to match a wall color?
Steel fittings with a ScuffCoat finish accept paint the way any primed steel surface does, which is how most offices get raceway to disappear into a wall color. Bear in mind the ScuffCoat coating is the wear layer, so once you paint over it the scuff resistance comes from your topcoat, not the factory finish.
