Ideal Industries 44-944 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is the Ideal 44-944 a disconnect switch or just the marking for one?
It is the marking only. Despite being grouped with electrical disconnect products, the 44-944 is an adhesive label, so you still need the actual service rated disconnect or enclosed switch at the point of the emergency disconnect. Order the label alongside the switch, not in place of it.
2) What is the Ideal 44-944 label used for on a service installation?
The Ideal Industries 44-944 is an adhesive marking label for identifying an emergency disconnect at a dwelling service, the field marking an inspector looks for at the outside disconnecting means. It is a self-adhesive label you apply to the enclosure or cover, not a switch or mechanical device, so it adds no rating to the equipment it is placed on.
3) Does the Ideal 44-944 come as a single label or a multi-pack?
The 44-944 ships as a 5 label pack, which is why electricians and service techs buy it for truck stock rather than per job. One model number covers the pack, so ordering quantity 1 gets you five labels.
