Blackburn 3908 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What size grounding electrode conductor can I land in a Blackburn 3908 clamp?
It takes copper conductors from 4 AWG up through 4/0 AWG. That range covers the grounding electrode conductor sizes typically pulled for large services, so a single clamp can handle anything from a #4 to a 4/0 run.
2) Is the Blackburn 3908 ground clamp made in the USA for a Buy American job?
Country of origin is the United States, which is the answer most federal, school and municipal procurement packages want documented on grounding hardware.
3) Is the Blackburn 3908 insulated?
No, it is a bare bronze clamp with no insulation. It is a bonding and grounding connector, so the metal-to-metal path to the pipe is the point of the device.
4) Is the Blackburn 3908 sold individually or in a box quantity?
Sold each. One clamp per unit, so order per connection point rather than by carton.
