Zero door gaskets for protecting head, jamb, sill, and meeting stiles are engineered for reliable performance in demanding environments. Constructed from top-quality materials, they are built to last. We offer an unequaled range of capabilities, features, aesthetic options and specialized solutions.

When you need the best seal to satisfy codes, or field conditions are less than perfect, our mechanically fastened gasketing provides many choices:

  • Solid or closed cell sponge neoprene, silicone, EPDM rubber, nylon brush, and pile with fin seals.
  • Sealing reinforcement using double seals, magnetic door seals, or spring-loaded mechanisms.
  • Snap-on covers for aesthetics, as well as protecting mounting screws from abuse.
  • ZAG ligature resistant option available on select head and jamb gaskets to prevent removal for self-harm or other
    inappropriate uses.
  • EBF double sealing system available on selected gasketing (as well as thresholds), our extruded bulb/finger ensures an airtight seal even when doors are misaligned because of poor installation, or slightly warped.
  • Adjustable features to compensate for door alignment problems at installation or in service.

Zero International 110A-36 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Is the Zero 110A door shoe a U-shaped type that wraps the bottom of the door?
Yes. The Zero 110A is a U-shaped aluminum door bottom, so the extrusion straddles the bottom edge of the door rather than mounting flat on one face like a face-applied sweep. That means you need access to the door bottom, and on an existing hung door it is usually pulled to install.
2) My doors are slightly warped and the gap at the bottom is uneven. Will a brush door shoe still seal?
A brush seal has more give than a solid bulb, so it tolerates an uneven gap better than a rigid seal, and the 110A's U-shaped aluminum retainer keeps that brush held straight along the door bottom. If the misalignment is significant, Zero also builds gasketing with adjustable features to compensate for door alignment problems at installation or in service, plus the EBF extruded bulb and finger double sealing system for airtight sealing on misaligned or slightly warped doors. Those options are worth looking at if the opening has to seal tight rather than just sweep clean.
3) What seal material is on the Zero 110A door bottom, and where does a brush seal make sense?
The 110A carries a brush insert in an aluminum retainer. Nylon brush is one of the seal materials Zero uses across its mechanically fastened gasketing, alongside solid and closed cell sponge neoprene, silicone, EPDM rubber, and pile with fin seals. Brush sweeps out dust and light debris and tolerates uneven or rough floors better than a rigid bulb, which is why they turn up on service doors, shop doors, and openings over concrete. For an air or smoke tight seal on a flat threshold, a neoprene or bulb type seal is the better pick.
4) Is the Zero 110A rated for commercial door use or is it a residential sweep?
It is a commercial product, part of Zero International's mechanically fastened door gasketing line. Mechanically fastened means it is screw applied rather than adhesive backed, which is what holds up on high traffic openings where a peel and stick sweep would let go.
5) Can I cut the Zero 110A door shoe down to fit a narrower door?
Yes, aluminum door bottoms of this type are field cut to the opening. The 36 inch clear anodized extrusion can be trimmed with a miter saw to suit a narrower leaf, and the brush insert trimmed to match. Zero publishes install instructions for its door sweeps and a full line catalog covering the gasketing range if you need the mounting detail before you cut.
6) What length and finish does the Zero 110A aluminum door bottom come in?
Clear anodized aluminum in a 36 inch length, which covers a standard 3'0" commercial door leaf. For a 4'0" leaf or a pair of unequal doors you would need a longer stock length, since aluminum door shoes are cut to the door width rather than stretched.
