Metallics MWRC112 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What size wire rope does the Metallics MWRC112 clip fit?
The MWRC112 is a 1-1/2 size wire rope clip, so it pairs with 1-1/2 inch diameter wire rope. Clips are sized to the rope, not the load, so match the clip size to the cable you are terminating rather than to the hardware it anchors to.
2) Is a single wire rope clip enough to terminate a cable, or do I need more than one?
One clip is not a termination. A wire rope clip forms a loop or eye by clamping the dead end back against the live line, and the accepted practice is multiple clips spaced along the dead end with the saddle on the live rope and the U-bolt on the dead end. The MWRC112 is sold as an individual 1-1/2 clip, so order the quantity your termination calls for.
