Metallics RB30 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What size conduit does the Metallics RB30 reducing bushing adapt?
The RB30 is a steel conduit reducing bushing that takes a 1-1/4 inch opening down to 1/2 inch, so you can land 1/2 inch conduit or fitting in a 1-1/4 inch knockout or hub.
2) I have a 1-1/4 inch knockout in a panel but only need to run 1/2 inch conduit. What do I use?
A reducing bushing like the Metallics RB30 handles exactly that: it fills the 1-1/4 inch opening and gives you a 1/2 inch landing for the smaller conduit or connector, so you don't have to change the enclosure or plug the hole.
3) Is the Metallics RB30 bushing steel or plastic?
Steel. The RB30 reducer is a steel body, not a molded insulating bushing, so it is the part you use where a metallic reduction is wanted between a 1-1/4 inch opening and 1/2 inch conduit.
4) Is there more than one size option under Metallics RB30?
No. RB30 is a single model, fixed at the 1-1/4 inch to 1/2 inch reduction. If you need a different pair of sizes, you are looking at a different reducing bushing part number.
