Thomas & Betts 2546 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What cable diameter ranges does the Thomas & Betts 1 inch cord connector cover?
The 1 inch trade size straight strain relief cord connector is offered in six cable grip ranges: .250-.375, .375-.500, .500-.625, .625-.750, .750-.875 and .875-.985 inches. Measure the actual outside diameter of the jacketed cord and pick the range it falls inside. The connector hub itself stays 1 inch on every one, so the range you choose only changes the grip, not the enclosure opening you thread into.
2) What is this Thomas & Betts strain relief cord connector made of, and will it hold up in a damp mechanical room?
Zinc die cast body with a metallic finish. That gives you a metal connector rather than a plastic or nylon one, which is what most commercial and industrial installs specify for a cord entry into a box, motor connection box, or control enclosure. It is a straight-body type, so the cord enters in line with the hub.
