These 1 inch insulated staples run only in the Milwaukee M12 Cable Stapler, model 2448. They are collated in strips of 20 and will not feed in another brand's tool or in a manual staple gun. If you are running a different stapler, this is the wrong consumable.
2) Can I use Milwaukee MNM1-600 staples on 12/2 and 14/2 Romex?
Yes. The MNM1-600 staple is UL/CUL approved for fastening single non-metallic cable in 14/2, 14/3, 12/2, 12/3, 10/2 and 10/3. For double stacked non-metallic runs the approval covers 14/2, 14/3, 12/2, 12/3 and 10/2, so a double stack of 10/3 is outside what it is approved for.
3) Are these staples safe for low voltage wiring like CAT6 and coax?
They are suited to low voltage cable including CAT3, CAT5, CAT6 and coax. The staple is plastic insulated, which is what keeps the crown off the cable sheathing so you are not crushing or nicking a data run when you fasten it.
4) What is the difference between the 1 inch Milwaukee cable staple and a smaller crown size?
The MNM1-600 is the 1 inch staple, sized for the larger bundles: double stacked non-metallic cable and heavier gauges up to 10/3 single. If you are only tacking a single small low voltage line, a narrower crown staple for the same M12 2448 stapler seats tighter to the stud. Match the crown to the widest bundle you need to capture.
