1) Can I use these stainless screws to fasten into aluminum or steel?
You can, but watch the metal pairing. Driving an 18-8 stainless screw into aluminum or plain steel can set up a galvanic couple in some environments, which corrodes the softer base metal around the fastener. Outdoors, in wash-down areas, or anywhere salt is present, isolate the joint or use a fastener that matches the base metal. In dry interior work the 18-8 stainless is the point of the screw, since it will not rust where a plated screw would.
2) What dimensional standard do the Metallics JDS indented hex head tapping screws meet?
