Metallics JTEL1224BLK 12-24 x 5/8 in. Pan Head Tri-Drive Telecom Cabinet Screws - Black Oxide - Each

It is a tri-drive head, so it takes a Phillips bit, a flat/slotted blade, or a square (Robertson) bit. That means whatever is already in your pouch will turn it, and a square bit gives the best stick-fit when you are working one-handed inside a cabinet.

The 5/8 inch shank handles the usual rack ear and panel flange stack, which is thin sheet or extruded rail. For thicker equipment flanges or when you are stacking washers plus a ground lug, you may run out of thread engagement and need a longer 12-24.

Black oxide is a conversion coating, not a barrier plating, so its corrosion resistance is light. It is made for conditioned indoor spaces like data rooms and telecom closets where the draw is the matte black finish that disappears against black rails. For damp basements, unconditioned mechanical rooms, or anything outdoors, specify a zinc or stainless fastener instead.

They ship in a jar, which is how most shops want rack screws: one container that sits on the cart or the shelf of the cabinet you are building out, rather than a bag that spills. Made in the USA.

Pan head gives a broad flat bearing face that seats on top of the rack ear and spreads the clamp load, which is what you want on thin punched sheet. A flat head needs a countersunk hole to sit flush and will just wedge and deform an unchamfered rack hole. The JTEL1224BLK is a pan head.

Metallics part number JTEL1224BLK covers the 12-24 x 5/8 inch pan head tri-drive screw in black oxide. That single MPN is the whole offering here, so there is no finish or length choice to specify on the order.
