4) Is a galvanized malleable iron tee OK for an outdoor or wet sprinkler line?
The galvanizing is a hot dip coating to ASTM A-153, which is the standard for hardware dipped after fabrication and is what gives it corrosion resistance in damp, exterior and unheated spaces. The body itself is malleable iron to ASTM A-197. For buried service or aggressive chemical exposure, galvanized threaded iron is not the right material.
