Elastimold N0280 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What is the Elastimold N0280 and what conductor size does it take?
The Elastimold N0280 is a two-hole spade connector sized for 250 MCM cable, rated for 15-35 kV class separable connector systems. The spade terminal is drilled with two holes for bolted connection, and the conductor barrel accepts 250 MCM.
2) Will the N0280 spade connector work on a 25 kV system?
Yes. The N0280 is designated 15-35 kV, so it covers the 15, 25 and 35 kV classes used on distribution gear. Confirm the connector interface on your elbow or bushing matches before ordering.
3) Can I use the N0280 on 4/0 or 350 MCM cable instead of 250 MCM?
No. The N0280 is built for 250 MCM conductor only. Running a smaller or larger conductor into it will not give a proper crimp or compression connection, so you need the connector sized to your actual cable.
4) What part number should I order for the Elastimold 250 MCM two-hole spade connector?
Order Elastimold MPN N0280. That is the manufacturer part number for the 15-35 kV two-hole spade connector at 250 MCM.
