Ty-Duct TYD15X3NPG6 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is the Ty-Duct TYD15X3NPG6 narrow slot duct sold in 6 foot sticks?
Yes, the TYD15X3NPG6 comes in 6 foot (1.83 m) lengths, and it's sold by the foot as the unit of measure. Order quantity accordingly if you're pricing out a panel run or a wireway along a control cabinet.
2) Does this Ty-Duct wiring duct have adhesive backing, or do I have to screw it down?
No adhesive backing on the TYD15X3NPG6. It mounts mechanically, so plan on screws or rivets through the duct base into the panel or backplate. Fasteners aren't part of the pack.
3) What is narrow slot wiring duct used for instead of the wide slot type?
Narrow slot duct, which is what the Ty-Duct TYD15X3NPG6 is, has tighter finger openings so small-gauge control and signal wire stays put when the cover is off. That's the one to use inside control panels and on terminal strip layouts. If you're routing heavier power conductors or large bundles that need to drop out of the duct easily, a wide slot duct is the better pick.
4) Is Ty-Duct wiring duct made in the USA?
Yes, the TYD15X3NPG6 plastic wiring duct is US-made, which matters if you're on a government or institutional job carrying domestic-sourcing language in the spec.
5) What material and color is the Ty-Duct TYD15X3NPG6 duct?
PVC, in gray. That's the standard finish for panel wireway, so it'll blend with existing gray duct runs already in an enclosure rather than standing out like a white or black stick would.
