The 17788 is the FKM element, identified by its dull black color. Viega uses color to keep seal types apart on the jobsite, so a black FKM ring is what you install where the fitting is specified with FKM rather than the standard green EPDM. If your spec calls for EPDM, order the green element instead, not this one.
3) Can I replace the factory seal in a 1 inch ProPress fitting with this element before pressing?
