1) Is the Viega 25016 MegaPressG coupling a 1-1/4 inch press-to-press fitting?
Yes. The Viega MegaPressG 25016 is a 1-1/4 inch by 1-1/4 inch coupling with a press connection on both ends (P1 x P2), so it joins two runs of 1-1/4 inch pipe with no threading or welding.
2) What does the "with stop" mean on the MegaPressG 25016 coupling, and when do I need a coupling without a stop?
With stop means there is an internal shoulder in the middle of the coupling. You butt each pipe end against it, which sets insertion depth on both sides and guarantees both presses are made to full depth.
