1) What connections does the Viega MegaPress 25150 adapter have on each end?
It is a P x FPT adapter: one end is a MegaPress press socket for 1-1/2 inch carbon steel pipe, the other is 1-1/2 inch female pipe thread. So you press onto the steel pipe on one side and thread a male NPT nipple, valve, or gauge fitting into the other. Both ends are 1-1/2 inch.
2) Can I use the Viega 25150 MegaPress fitting on copper or PEX?
No. The 25150 is carbon steel and is made to press onto black iron and carbon steel pipe. Copper needs a copper press system (ProPress) and PEX needs a PEX press fitting. Using a carbon steel MegaPress fitting on copper tube is the wrong system and wrong jaw.
3) Is the Viega 25150 a tee or an adapter?
Despite being grouped with tees, the 25150 is an adapter, not a branch fitting. It has two openings, a 1-1/2 inch press end and a 1-1/2 inch female thread. If you need a third outlet for a branch line, you want a MegaPress tee instead.
