Viega 25415 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What are the three outlets on the Viega MegaPress 25415 tee?
The 25415 is a 1 inch x 1 inch x 3/4 inch reducing tee with a P1 x P2 x FPT connection pattern. The two 1 inch run ends are press connections, and the 3/4 inch branch is female pipe thread. So you press onto the run and thread into the branch.
2) Can I use the Viega 25415 press tee on copper or PEX?
No. The 25415 is a carbon steel MegaPress fitting, made for black iron and carbon steel pipe. For copper you need a copper press fitting (ProPress) and for PEX a PEX system fitting; the sealing element and press profile are not interchangeable.
3) What does Smart Connect mean on a Viega MegaPress fitting?
Smart Connect is Viega's unpressed-connection feature: an unpressed fitting leaks visibly during test so it gets caught before the system is charged. On a job with dozens of joints, that is how you find the one you missed. The 25415 tee carries it.
