The MegaPress 26700 is a 2-1/2 inch by 1 inch carbon steel reducer. It presses onto black iron or carbon steel pipe in those two sizes, so it is what you use to step a 2-1/2 inch run down to a 1 inch branch or takeoff.

FTG x P describes the two ends. The FTG end is fitting-size, meaning it is made to slip into the press socket of another 2-1/2 inch MegaPress fitting rather than over pipe. The P end is a standard press socket that goes over 1 inch pipe. So the 26700 is not a pipe-to-pipe coupling; one side lands in a fitting.

The fitting body itself is 4.811 inches long and 2.874 inches across in both height and width. Add clearance beyond that for the press jaw and the tool head, since the jaw has to seat fully square on the bead. Tight ceiling pockets and close-spaced racked pipe are where this catches people out.
