Blackburn FBE2H150A1-12 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) How long is the Blackburn FBE2H150A1-12 jumper braid?
The FBE2H150A1-12 braid assembly measures 12 inches long (304.8 mm). That length is what the -12 suffix in the part number refers to, so if you need a different span across an expansion joint or between frame members you need a different length code in the same family rather than stretching this one.
2) Is the Blackburn FBE2H150A1-12 bonding braid insulated?
No. It is a non-insulated extra-flexible jumper braid, so the bare braid is exposed along its full length. Plan the routing so the braid cannot contact energized parts or chafe against a sharp edge, and keep it clear of anything it should not bond to.
3) What is a flexible jumper braid used for instead of a solid bonding conductor?
An extra-flexible braid is the part you use where the two bonded points move relative to each other: across expansion or seismic joints in busway and cable tray, on hinged enclosure doors and covers, on vibrating equipment frames, and on sliding or rolling assemblies. A solid or stranded bonding jumper work-hardens and eventually cracks under that repeated flex. Where nothing moves, a standard bonding jumper or bare copper conductor is the simpler choice.
4) Does the Blackburn FBE2H150A1-12 come as a complete assembly with terminals, or just braid?
It ships as a finished jumper braid assembly, not cut bulk braid, and it is sold each. You are buying one made-up piece at the stated 12 inch length ready to bolt in at both ends, so there is no crimping or terminal work on your side.
5) Is the Blackburn FBE2H150A1-12 made in the USA, and does it meet a recognized standard?
Country of origin is the United States, and the braid is built to NEMA. That covers the two boxes most institutional and government specs check first on grounding and bonding hardware, domestic origin and a named standards body.
6) What is the exact Blackburn part number to order this 12 inch jumper braid?
Order Blackburn FBE2H150A1-12. Blackburn braid part numbers encode the configuration, so adjacent numbers in the FBE family are different hole sizes, ferrule dimensions and lengths, not cosmetic variations. Quote the full string including the -12 length suffix when you spec it.
