Ty-Duct TYD2X2NPG6 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What length are the Ty-Duct TYD2X2NPG6 wiring duct sticks, and how many come in a pack?
Each stick of the TYD2X2NPG6 gray PVC wiring duct runs 6 ft (1.83 m), and it is packaged 100 sticks to a pack. Selling unit of measure is the foot, so a full pack works out to 600 linear feet of 2 x 2 duct.
2) Is the TYD2X2NPG6 narrow slot duct adhesive backed, or do I have to screw it to the panel?
No adhesive backing on the TYD2X2NPG6. The duct base has to be mechanically fastened, so plan on screws or rivets into the backpan or subpanel and buy those separately.
3) What is the difference between narrow slot and wide slot wiring duct, and when should I use narrow?
The TYD2X2NPG6 is a narrow entrance (narrow slot) duct, meaning the fingers along the sidewall are closely spaced with small openings. That holds small conductors captive and keeps wire from spilling out when the cover is off, which suits control panels full of 14 to 22 AWG control and signal wire. Wide slot duct is the better choice when you are routing larger power conductors or fat cable bundles that will not pass through a narrow opening.
4) Is this wiring duct made in the USA? I have a domestic preference clause on the job.
Country of origin on the TYD2X2NPG6 is the United States, which is what a buyer working to a domestic-content or Buy American preference needs on the submittal.
5) I need to order a lot of panel duct for a build. What exactly am I buying with TYD2X2NPG6?
TYD2X2NPG6 is the Ty-Duct manufacturer part number for 2 x 2 narrow slot grey PVC wiring duct in 6 ft lengths, bought here as a 100 stick pack. Single MPN, single configuration, so there is no finish or size option to specify on the order.
6) Can I cut Ty-Duct PVC wiring duct on site to fit my enclosure?
Yes. Because it is PVC, the 6 ft sticks cut cleanly with a fine-tooth saw or a duct cutter, so you can trim runs to the backpan dimensions and notch for wire exits on site.
