Pick by how many directions the raceway has to go. The T88TB is a T body, so it has three threaded openings and handles a run that splits or a junction where two branches feed one line. An LB, LL, LR or C body has only two openings and simply changes direction or gives you a pull point on a straight run. If you only need to turn a corner or get through a wall, a two-opening body is the smaller and cheaper part; if a branch circuit leaves the run at that point, you want the T.

Order the cover separately. Conduit bodies of this type are sold as the casting, and the cover plate, gasket and cover screws are matched to the trade size and body form. For a job, plan on a 3 inch Form 8 cover plus a gasket if the location calls for a wet or damp rating.

For coastal or corrosive chemical exposure, a PVC-coated or aluminum body is the more common spec.
