Metallics CT3DNY – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What does the Metallics CT3DNY barricade tape say on it, and what color is it?
Yellow tape printed with the legend "Caution Do Not Enter." Yellow is the standard caution color on a job site, and the message is a keep-out warning rather than a general hazard marker, so it suits cordoning off an area crews should not walk into at all, such as an open trench, an energized panel work zone, or a floor that has just been poured.
2) What part number do I order for the 3 inch yellow Caution Do Not Enter tape from Metallics?
Order Metallics CT3DNY. That single part number covers the 3 inch by 1000 foot yellow roll with the "Caution Do Not Enter" print, so there is no size or color option to specify separately.
3) Can I use this Caution Do Not Enter tape to mark a buried electrical line?
No. The CT3DNY is above-ground barricade tape for cordoning off an area crews must stay out of. Buried-line warning requires underground marking tape, which is printed with the specific utility legend (for example "Caution Buried Electric Line Below") and is laid in the trench above the conduit. For in-trench use, order a detectable or non-detectable underground marking tape with the correct utility wording instead.
