1) Is the FDC222-TB a two gang box, and will it hold two devices?
Two gang, yes. The FDC222-TB is a deep two gang device box, so it takes two wiring devices (a receptacle and a switch, or a duplex pair) behind a matching two gang FD cover. Single device applications should use a one gang FD body instead.
2) What does thru-feed mean on this Thomas & Betts FD box?
Thru-feed means the body has hubs on opposite ends so conduit enters one side and continues out the other. You can run a circuit through the box and still land devices in it, rather than terminating the run there. A dead-end FD body would stop the run at the box.
3) Does the FDC222-TB come with a cover and gasket?
The FDC222-TB is the box body only. Order the two gang FD cover you need separately, whether that is a duplex receptacle cover, a toggle switch cover, or a blank, along with a gasket if the location calls for a weatherproof seal.
4) Is the FDC222-TB box metal or PVC?
Iron. The FDC222-TB body is cast iron, which is what you want on threaded rigid or IMC conduit systems in shops, plants, parking structures, and exterior walls. It is not a nonmetallic box, so the raceway carries the ground path through the threaded hubs unless you pull an equipment ground.
5) Can I standardize on the FDC222-TB across a facility already running 3/4 inch rigid conduit?
Yes, if your device locations are two gang and you need the run to pass through. The 3/4 inch threaded hubs match existing rigid and IMC, and the cast iron body is the same family of FD hardware used elsewhere on the system, so covers and mounting stay consistent. Single gang points and dead-end locations will still need their own body styles.
