The outlet is a 3/4 inch union joint, not a threaded pipe connection. That is what lets you break the valve free from the radiator spud without unthreading the whole valve from the supply riser, which is how these get swapped on a one pipe or two pipe steam radiator.
2) Can I use this valve on a hot water radiator, or is it steam only?
Both. The RA-1-AP angle valve is rated to 15 psi on steam and 60 psi on water, so it works on low pressure steam heating and on hydronic hot water radiators within those limits. If your system runs above 15 psi steam, this is not the valve for it.
3) Is this radiator valve bronze or brass, and will it hold up in an old steam system?
