The 2683 is a liquid tight type: it clamps the cord jacket and seals around it, so it both takes the pull off the terminations and keeps water out of the enclosure. A plain strain relief bushing only grips the cord and does nothing for moisture. On wet, damp, or washdown locations you want the liquid tight version.
