Progress Lighting P8060-28 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Which Progress Lighting housings does the P8060-28 6 inch Albalite trim fit?
The P8060-28 Albalite trim is built for 6 inch Progress Lighting recessed housings, specifically the P87, P187, P83, P88, P821 and P62 models. It mounts into the housing at the ceiling, so you need one of those cans already installed. It is not a standalone fixture and includes no outlet box mounting hardware.
2) Can this recessed trim be used inside a shower?
Yes. The P8060-28 is classified as a shower trim and carries a UL-CUL listing for wet locations, so it can go directly over a tub or in a shower enclosure. The Albalite glass lens seals the opening and the metal body is powder coated to hold up in humid rooms. Confirm the housing you are pairing it with is also rated for the wet location.
3) Does a bulb come with the Progress P8060-28 trim?
No lamp is packed with it. The P8060-28 is an incandescent-style trim, so you supply the lamp separately to match the wattage the housing is rated for. It is a hardwired 120V assembly with no factory wiring leads, meaning it drops into a powered can rather than plugging in.
4) Can this trim be aimed or tilted for a sloped ceiling?
No. It is a fixed trim that cannot be mounted up or down, so it installs flat in a level ceiling only. For a sloped ceiling or for aiming light at a wall, you want an adjustable eyeball or a sloped ceiling trim instead of this flat Albalite lens unit.
5) How many Albalite shower trims come in a carton for a multi-unit bathroom job?
Progress packs these 6 each to a carton, which suits ordering by the bathroom count on apartment or hotel work. Each trim weighs 1.1 lb, so a full carton stays easy to carry up a ladder run.
6) Is the white finish on this trim painted metal or plastic?
Metal is the main construction material, finished in white powder coat paint rather than a plastic molding. That matters in a shower, where a painted metal flange holds its edge and colour better than a bare polymer trim under constant steam.
7) Is the Progress P8060-28 an ADA compliant fixture?
It is not flagged as ADA compliant. In practice a recessed ceiling trim sits flush in the ceiling plane and is not a protruding object, but if your spec calls out ADA hardware explicitly, this item does not carry that designation.
