Metallics CTRUV7 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is the Metallics CTRUV7 cable tie reusable, or is it a one-time pull-tight tie?
The CTRUV7 is a releasable tie, so the pawl can be disengaged and the tie reopened and reused rather than cut off. That is what you want on panel work, temporary bundling, or any run where conductors get added later. If you need a tie that cannot be undone without cutting, choose a standard non-releasable tie instead.
2) Can the Metallics CTRUV7 black cable tie be used outdoors or in direct sunlight?
Yes. The CTRUV7 is black UV-stabilized nylon, which is the construction specified for exposed and sunlit locations where natural nylon ties go brittle and snap. Typical uses are rooftop conduit runs, exterior lighting, and outdoor equipment bundling.
3) What length is the Metallics CTRUV7 cable tie?
It is a 6 inch releasable tie, which suits small to mid-size bundles of branch circuit conductors, low-voltage cable, and control wiring. For larger conduit or heavy multi-cable bundles you need a longer tie.
4) Is the Metallics CTRUV7 an electrical-trade cable tie or a general-purpose one?
It is sold as an electrical supply item, the releasable black UV nylon tie electricians and integrators use for wire management in panels, raceways, and exterior runs. Order it by the manufacturer part number CTRUV7.
