Metallics BT6CO – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Does orange underground tape indicate a specific type of utility?
Orange is the standard trench marking color for communications, alarm, signal, and conduit runs under the APWA uniform color code. The BT6CO is the orange 6 inch by 1000 foot roll, so it suits those runs rather than electrical power (red), water (blue), or gas (yellow).
2) Is the Metallics BT6CO orange tape meant for burying in a trench rather than surface marking?
It is an underground product, supplied in a 6 inch by 1000 foot roll and intended to be laid in the trench over the run so anyone excavating later hits the tape before the line. It is not a surface-applied floor or pavement marking tape.
3) What is the Metallics part number to order for the 6 inch orange underground tape?
Order Metallics BT6CO. That is the manufacturer part number for the 6 inch by 1000 foot orange underground tape, and it ships as a single model with no width, length, or color options to specify.
