If you need to span a deep mud ring, step up to a longer 8-32.
2) Does the flat head on the JFM18 screw sit flush, and what countersink does it need?
It is a flat countersunk head, so it finishes flush in an 82 degree countersink. The head measures 0.285 to 0.312 in. across with a head height of 0.084 to 0.1 in., dimensioned to ASME B18.6.3-1998.
