TOTO ABF964N#01DCP – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What floor loading does the TOTO Soiree ABF964N freestanding tub need?
The floor structure under the bath has to carry at least 75 lbs per square foot. The tub itself weighs 310 lbs dry and holds 76 gallons, so a filled tub plus bather is a real load on an upper-floor or renovated framing. On wood-framed second floors, get the joists checked before setting it.
2) What footprint do I need to plan for the Soiree freestanding soaker?
Overall the tub runs 72-3/8 long, 39-1/2 wide and 25-3/8 high. Inside, the bathing well is 56-1/2 by 23 with a 20-1/2 depth. It is a rectangular freestanding shape, so leave clearance on all four sides for cleaning and for the filler.
3) Does the Soiree ABF964N come with a faucet, or do I have to buy one?
No faucet is included. It takes a freestanding tub filler ordered separately, and TOTO specifies the TB100DF or TB100SF for it. Plan the floor rough-in for the filler before the slab or subfloor is closed up.
4) Is the drain and overflow included with this TOTO soaker tub, or ordered separately?
The drain assembly and overflow cover ship with the tub, finished to match the grab bars. What comes in the carton is the tub, the overflow cover, two grab bars and the drain assembly. You still supply the waste piping and trap below the floor.
5) How deep can you actually fill the Soiree tub before it drains off?
Water depth to the overflow is 15.9 inches, out of a 20-1/2 inch well. That is a deep soak by residential standards, and with 76 gallons of capacity it is worth checking the water heater size if the tub is going into a hotel or short-term rental where back-to-back baths are likely.
6) Is this TOTO freestanding tub suitable for assisted-living or accessible bathrooms?
It includes two solid brass chrome-plated grab bars and a slip-resistant bathing surface, which helps with entry and exit. That said, it is a 20-1/2 inch deep freestanding soaker with a high wall to step over, so for genuine mobility-limited use a walk-in or low-threshold bath is the better call. The grab bars here are a comfort and safety feature, not a substitute for barrier-free design.
7) Does a built-in heater come with this soaker tub?
No heater, blower or jets. The Soiree ABF964N is a plain soaking tub, so there is no electrical rough-in or GFCI circuit to run for it. Plumbing rough-in for the freestanding filler and the waste is all that is required.
8) Where can I get the rough-in dimensions for the ABF964N before framing the bathroom?
TOTO publishes both a spec sheet and an installation sheet for the ABF964N, and both are posted with the product. Pull those for drain location and setting details before you commit the framing or the floor penetration, since a freestanding tub gives you no apron to hide a mislocated waste.
9) Will this tub match other TOTO fixtures I am specifying in the same bathroom?
It is part of the TOTO Soiree collection and is built to coordinate with the rest of that line. The tub shown is Cotton White with chrome-plated grab bars, MPN ABF964N#01DCP. Drain and overflow trim arrive in the same finish as the bars, so the metal on the tub reads as one set.
