American Standard 3351511.02 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Does the Afwall Millennium touchless flush valve toilet come with a seat?
No seat is included. The Afwall Millennium wall-hung flushometer bowl ships less seat, so you need to order an elongated open-front or closed-front seat separately to finish the installation.
2) Is this a top spud or back spud wall-hung toilet?
Top spud. The Afwall Millennium bowl in this system is an elongated wall-hung flushometer bowl with a top spud inlet, which is what pairs it with the exposed Selectronic piston flush valve supplied with it. If your existing carrier and wall rough-in were set up for a back spud bowl with a concealed valve, this is not a drop-in swap.
3) What flush volume is this American Standard wall-hung toilet, and will it clear waste at that rate?
It flushes at 1.1 gpf (4.2 Lpf) and carries a maximum 1,000 gram MaP score, which is the top of the MaP test scale. For high-traffic commercial restrooms that is the strongest waste-removal result reported at any flush volume, so the low 1.1 gallon rate is not a performance tradeoff.
4) Does the touchless Selectronic flush valve need to be wired to power?
No hardwiring or transformer is required. The Selectronic piston valve runs on an 8-year CR-P2 lithium battery installed in the valve, so there is no electrical rough-in at the fixture. That makes it workable for retrofits where getting power to the valve would mean opening a wall.
5) What happens if the battery dies or the sensor fails on this touchless toilet?
There is a fully mechanical manual override that operates without power. If the battery is flat or the sensor goes down, staff or users can still flush the fixture by hand, so the stall does not have to be taken out of service while a battery is sourced.
6) Does a wall-hung flushometer toilet like the Afwall need a carrier, or is it included?
A wall-hung flushometer bowl mounts to an in-wall carrier and the carrier is a separate item, not part of this toilet system. The system covers the elongated top spud bowl and the touchless Selectronic piston flush valve. You still specify the carrier, the seat, and the supply stop to complete the job.
7) Our building's flush valves keep running on after a flush. Does this one address that?
That is what the DynaClean feature targets. The valve uses a self-cleaning wiper spring that scrubs the refill orifice on every flush, which is the orifice that clogs with grit and scale and causes run-on. It is a mechanical solution inside the valve, so it works without maintenance intervention.
8) What is the EverClean surface on this toilet and does it wear off with commercial cleaning?
EverClean is a permanent surface treatment fired into the china, not a coating applied over it, so routine janitorial cleaning does not strip it. It inhibits growth of stain and odor-causing bacteria, mold, and mildew on the surface. It reduces staining and odor between cleanings; it is not a substitute for cleaning.
9) Is this toilet suited to a school or high-traffic public restroom?
It is built for that duty. Vitreous china wall-hung bowl for easy floor cleaning under the fixture, top MaP waste removal at 1.1 gpf, EverClean surface to hold down staining and odor between cleanings, and a touchless valve so nobody touches the handle. The 1,000 lb static load suits public abuse, though it is not designated for bariatric use.
10) What color does the Afwall Millennium 3351511 come in?
White only. The orderable configuration is MPN 3351511.02, the white finish, so it will match standard white commercial china already in a facility.
