The 8355110 uses offset shanks that adjust anywhere from 6 to 10 inch centers (152 to 254 mm), so it lands on the common 8 inch rough-in and absorbs the out-of-square inlets you find on older janitor closets. If your supply centers fall outside that 6 to 10 inch window, this one won't reach and you need a different rough-in.

The vacuum breaker is built into the 8 inch (203 mm) spout, so there's no separate add-on to buy or plumb. That's the backflow protection a mop sink needs when a hose gets left in a bucket of dirty water. The spout also has a plain end with a bucket hook, so a hose thread adapter is what you'd add if you want to run a hose off it.

Integral supply stops are built into the faucet body, so you can shut it down and service the cartridges without a separate pair of angle stops or killing the branch line. For a property manager with a closet on every floor, that's one less thing to hunt for behind a mop rack. Check valves are also built in, which stops hot crossing over into the cold line at the mixer.

Wall mount only. The 8355110 hangs off two offset shanks that come through the wall above the sink, not through holes in a sink deck. If your service sink or laundry tub has a punched deck with faucet holes, this isn't the one, you want a deck-mount utility faucet instead.

The bottom fork brace ties the two shanks together below the body and carries the load when somebody hangs a full mop bucket on the spout hook or leans on the faucet. On a janitor closet faucet that abuse is routine, and the brace is what keeps the wall connections from working loose. If your existing faucet keeps loosening at the wall, that brace is the reason to move to this one.

Vandal-resistant metal lever handles and washerless ceramic disc valves are the two things that matter in a high-traffic closet. Ceramic discs mean no rubber washers to reseat when the faucet starts weeping, and metal levers survive being cranked with a wet glove or a pair of pliers. Plastic-handled residential utility faucets are what fail in that environment.

The spout ends plain with a bucket hook rather than threaded, so a bucket hangs directly on it for filling. To run a hose you'd add a hose thread adapter that fits over a plain spout end.
