American Standard 8412000.002 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Does the American Standard Boxe towel bar mount on the wall or under the sink?
It is not a wall bar. The Boxe 16.5-in. towel bar installs underneath the Boxe Semi-Countertop Fireclay Sink, which is sold separately (model 0342.008 or 0342.001). If you need a standard wall-mounted bar for a restroom or unit bathroom, this is the wrong part.
2) Will the Boxe 16.5-in. towel bar fit any pedestal or console sink?
No. It is built to the Boxe semi-countertop fireclay sink only, either 0342.008 or 0342.001. The cutout template supplied with it matches that sink, so it will not land correctly on another basin.
3) Does the American Standard 8412000 towel bar come with mounting hardware?
Yes, a mounting kit and a cutout template ship with the bar, so you are not sourcing anchors separately. The sink itself is a separate purchase.
4) I am specifying a full Boxe lavatory setup - what do I need to order besides the towel bar?
Order the sink separately: the Boxe semi-countertop fireclay basin, 0342.008 or 0342.001. The towel bar 8412000.002 brings its own mounting kit and template. Faucet and drain are not part of the bar.
5) What finish does the American Standard Boxe towel bar come in?
Chrome is the only finish offered, ordered as part number 8412000.002. If your other Boxe trim in the room is chrome, it matches; there is no brushed or matte black option in this bar.
6) How long is the Boxe towel bar, and will a hand towel fit?
The bar is 16 inches long, sized to sit under the Boxe semi-countertop sink. That is hand-towel scale, not a bath-sheet bar.
