American Standard 3749000.243 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Will the American Standard 3749000 towel bar fit any washstand, or only the Townsend?
It's sized for the 30 inch (762mm) American Standard Townsend washstand and styled to coordinate with the Townsend Collection. On a wider Townsend washstand or another collection's stand, the mounting points won't line up, so it isn't a general-purpose bar you can put on any vanity.
2) Does the 3749000 towel bar come with the hardware to mount it?
A mounting kit is supplied with the towel bar, so you're not sourcing brackets separately for the washstand attachment.
3) Is anything else needed to finish a Townsend washstand besides this towel bar?
Yes, and it catches people out. Above counter and under counter sinks on the Townsend washstand require a quartz top, which is a separate order. Budget the top into the job before you quote it.
4) Is the 3749000 a wall-mounted towel bar?
No. It's a bath accessory that mounts to the American Standard Townsend washstand itself using the supplied kit, not a wall bar. For a wall installation you want a standard wall-mount towel bar instead.
5) Which part number do I give my supplier for the matte black Townsend towel bar?
Matte black is 3749000.243. Chrome is 3749000.002 and brushed nickel is 3749000.295, all under the American Standard 3749000 base number.
