A drop-in like the Cadet sets into a finished deck or platform you build, so the deck cutout and supporting framing have to be laid out around those nominal dimensions before the tub goes in. The bottom is pre-leveled, so you are setting it on a flat, supported base rather than shimming it level.

It is a drop-in, not an alcove unit. There is no integral tiling flange or finished apron, so the tub drops into a deck or platform that a contractor frames and finishes. If the bathroom is a standard three-wall alcove with a stud opening, a drop-in is the wrong body style and an alcove tub with a finished skirt is what the job needs.

No drain assembly is part of the tub. The Cadet 72 x 42 drop-in is the acrylic tub body only, so the waste and overflow, the trim, and the filler or roman tub faucet all get specified and ordered separately. The tub has a dual accessory deck area, which is where deck-mount filler or handshower trim typically lands.

The shell is acrylic with fiberglass reinforcement. That construction is the common choice for multi-family and hospitality work because the color runs through the acrylic surface rather than sitting on top of it, and chips repair with an acrylic kit instead of requiring refinishing like a porcelain-on-steel tub.

It is a plain soaking tub. There is no pump, jets, or blower in the 2774002, so there is no electrical rough-in, no access panel requirement for a pump motor, and no GFCI circuit to pull. That keeps the install to framing, set, drain, and trim.

Plan on two. It is a 72 by 42 inch acrylic shell, so the size makes it awkward to carry and lower into a deck opening even though acrylic is lighter than cast iron. Check that doorways and the stair path clear the 72 inch length before the tub gets to the floor it is going on.
