American Standard M907260-0020A – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What is the American Standard Colony plug button M907260 actually used for?
It is a small cap that fills the pop-up rod hole on a Colony faucet when no pop-up drain assembly is used, and it comes with the fixation screw for the dual control handle. It is a faucet repair part, not a drain or a handle itself.
2) I'm installing a Colony lavatory faucet with a grid drain instead of a pop-up. Do I need this part?
Yes. With a grid or push drain there is no lift rod, so the pop-up hole in the faucet body is left open. This Colony plug button caps that hole. The kit also includes the fixation screw used to secure the dual control handle, which is handy if the original screw was lost during service.
3) Is the M907260 plug button a genuine American Standard part or an aftermarket copy?
It is a genuine American Standard repair part for the Colony line, ordered as M907260-0020A in chrome.
4) What finish does the Colony pop-up hole plug button come in?
Chrome only, under part number M907260-0020A. If the faucet on the job is brushed nickel or bronze, this cap will not match.
5) Do I need tools or extra hardware to install the M907260 plug button?
No extra hardware. The button presses into the vacated pop-up hole and the included handle fixation screw takes a hex key or screwdriver depending on your Colony handle. Nothing else ships with it.
