American Standard 5001G055.020 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Which toilet bowls does the American Standard 5001G055 open front seat fit?
The 5001G055 open front seat is made for American Standard Baby Devoro bowls, specifically models 2315.228 and 2282.001. These are the small juvenile-height bowls used in daycares, preschools and elementary schools. It will not fit an adult elongated or round-front bowl, so if your fixture is not one of those two Baby Devoro models, order a standard-size commercial seat instead.
2) Does this American Standard Baby Devoro seat come with a lid?
No. It is an open front seat less cover, which is the configuration commercial and institutional codes typically call for in public restrooms. If your facility wants a closed front seat with a lid, this is not the part.
3) Is mounting hardware included with the 5001G055 toilet seat, or do I need to order it separately?
Bottom mounting hardware ships with the seat, so a maintenance tech can swap it out without sourcing anything else. It mounts from the underside of the bowl, which is the usual arrangement for institutional seats since the fasteners cannot be reached from the top.
4) What is the American Standard 5001G055 seat made of, and will it hold up in a school restroom?
It is molded polypropylene plastic and is rated for commercial rather than residential use, which is what you want for a school or daycare restroom seeing constant traffic. The surface carries American Standard's EverClean antimicrobial treatment, which inhibits growth of stain and odor causing bacteria, mold and mildew. That treatment is about staining and odor, not disease protection.
5) What color and part number do I order for the American Standard Baby Devoro commercial seat?
It is offered in white only, ordered as American Standard part number 5001G055.020. Standardizing a facility on one seat is easy here since there is a single finish to specify.
