American Standard M970139-0020A – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What finishes does the American Standard M970139 decorative plate come in?
Three finishes: Chrome (M970139-0020A), Legacy Bronze (M970139-2780A), and Brushed Nickel (M970139-2950A). Order by the full suffixed part number so the finish matches the faucet it is going on, since the base number M970139 is the same across all three.
2) I manage apartments and need to match the bronze faucets in my units. Which M970139 plate do I order?
For American Standard bronze trim, the Legacy Bronze version is M970139-2780A. Legacy Bronze is a specific American Standard finish name, so a plate in that finish will match other American Standard Legacy Bronze trim on the same fixture line rather than a generic oil-rubbed bronze from another brand.
3) Is the M970139 a replacement escutcheon for an existing American Standard faucet, or a new-install part?
Either. The M970139 is an American Standard service part, so it is ordered both as a finish-matched replacement when the original plate is pitted or scratched and as a new trim piece during a faucet install. Confirm the plate called out in the parts breakdown for your specific faucet model before ordering, because American Standard uses a different plate number per faucet family.
