American Standard 9024904EC.020 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Does the American Standard Decorum wall-hung sink 9024904EC need a carrier, or does it mount straight to the wall?
The Decorum 9024904EC is a wall-hung lavatory built for either a concealed arm carrier or wall support, and the carrier is supplied by others. Budget for a concealed arm carrier and in-wall blocking as a separate line item on the job, because nothing structural ships with the sink.
2) Is the 9024904EC sink ADA compliant for a public restroom?
Yes. The Decorum wall-hung lavatory is stated as ADA and TAS compliant, TAS being the Texas Accessibility Standards. Compliance still depends on how you set it: mounting height and knee clearance are determined by the carrier and rough-in, and you will need to protect the exposed supplies and drain under the bowl.
3) This sink is listed less overflow. What does that mean for the drain I order?
Less overflow means there is no secondary overflow channel in the bowl, so it takes a grid strainer drain rather than a pop-up with overflow ports. Order a non-overflow grid drain; a standard pop-up assembly meant for an overflow lavatory will not seal correctly here.
4) Will the EverClean surface on this American Standard sink hold up in a high-traffic restroom?
The bowl is vitreous china with an EverClean antimicrobial surface fired into it, which inhibits growth of stain and odor causing bacteria, mold and mildew on the surface. The deck is recessed and self-draining, so water runs back into the bowl instead of pooling around the faucet base, which is the spot that stains first in heavy-use restrooms.
5) Can I use this wall-hung sink on a countertop or with a pedestal?
No. The Decorum 9024904EC is a wall-hung design that hangs off a concealed arm carrier or wall support. It has no rim built for dropping into a deck and no pedestal foot, so for a counter installation you want an undermount or drop-in lavatory instead.
6) What color does the Decorum wall-hung EverClean sink come in?
White only. It is sold as a single finish, part number 9024904EC.020, so matching a fleet of restrooms across a building is straightforward, there is no color decision to track.
