American Standard 9024901EC.020 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Does the American Standard Decorum 9024901EC wall-hung sink come with a support carrier or mounting arms?
No support is included. The Decorum 9024901EC is built for a concealed arm carrier supplied by others, or for direct wall support. Budget for the carrier and the blocking or chair as a separate line item, because the sink ships as the china fixture only.
2) Is the American Standard Decorum wall-hung sink ADA compliant?
Yes. The Decorum 9024901EC is ADA and TAS compliant, which matters for restrooms in public and commercial buildings and for accessible units in multi-family. Mounting height and the knee clearance under the bowl are set by your carrier and rough-in, so the install has to follow the accessible mounting dimensions to keep the compliance.
3) What does "less overflow" mean on this American Standard sink, and does it change the drain I order?
Less overflow means the basin has no overflow channel, so it needs a grid drain rather than a pop-up with overflow ports. Pairing an overflow-type drain with a no-overflow bowl leaks at the ports. Order an open grid strainer drain for this one.
4) Can I standardize the same sink across an accessible restroom and a standard one?
Yes, and that is the usual reason to pick it. The Decorum 9024901EC meets ADA and TAS, so one model covers both the accessible fixture and the general-use fixtures, with only the carrier height changing. One single-hole faucet, one grid drain, one china SKU across the building keeps the MRO parts list short.
5) What is the EverClean surface on the Decorum sink and does it wear off?
EverClean is an antimicrobial surface treatment that inhibits growth of stain and odor causing bacteria, mold and mildew on the china. It is part of the fired surface, not a wipe-on coating. It is a cleanliness aid for high-traffic restrooms, not a substitute for a cleaning routine.
6) Is the Decorum wall-hung sink durable enough for a commercial restroom?
It is vitreous china built for commercial use, the same material used across institutional restroom fixtures. It is chip-resistant in normal service and cleans with standard restroom chemicals, and the recessed self-draining deck keeps standing water off the ledge, which is what causes staining around faucets in heavy-traffic washrooms.
