American Standard 9024024EC.020 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Does the American Standard Decorum 9024024EC wall-hung sink need a carrier, or does it mount straight to the wall?
The Decorum EverClean wall-hung lavatory is built for either a concealed arm carrier or wall support, and the concealed arm is supplied by others. Budget the carrier and the in-wall blocking as separate line items on the job, because neither comes with the fixture.
2) Is the American Standard Decorum wall-hung sink ADA compliant for a public restroom?
It is stated as ADA and TAS compliant (TAS being the Texas Accessibility Standards). Compliance in the finished installation still depends on your mounting height, knee and toe clearance, and insulating the exposed supplies and trap.
3) What else do I need to order with the American Standard 9024024EC to finish the installation?
The sink is the china only. You will separately need the concealed arm carrier or wall support, a 4 inch centerset faucet, a drain with overflow, P-trap and supply stops, and whatever accessory goes in the 1-3/8 inch left-hand hole. On an ADA opening, add trap and supply insulation covers.
4) What is the extra left-hand hole on this Decorum sink used for?
There's an additional deck hole on the left, 1-3/8 inch (35 mm) in diameter. That is the common size for a soap dispenser, a gooseneck spout accessory, or a sensor/electronic control body. Confirm the shank on whatever accessory you're mounting fits a 1-3/8 inch opening.
5) Does this Decorum sink have an overflow, and where does the water on the deck go?
Yes, a rear overflow. The deck is a recessed self-draining design, so water pooled around the faucet runs back into the bowl instead of sitting on the china or running down the wall. Because the overflow is present, pair it with a grid or pop-up drain that has overflow ports.
6) Will the EverClean surface on this sink hold up in a high-traffic commercial restroom?
The body is vitreous china with an EverClean antimicrobial surface that inhibits growth of stain and odor causing bacteria, mold and mildew on the surface. For a property manager standardizing restrooms, the practical benefit is fewer odor complaints between cleanings; it does not replace a cleaning schedule.
7) What color does the Decorum EverClean wall-hung sink come in?
White is the one finish offered, ordered under part number 9024024EC.020. If you are matching existing fixtures across a building, the .020 suffix is American Standard's white code, so it lines up with other white china in the line.
